Child Protection Parent Session

A pair of children near a computer.

During Term 3, all of our K-2 students will be participating in important Child Protection lessons as part of their studies in Health and Personal Development.  Lessons in Child Protection are a mandatory part of the NSW Curriculum.  Child Protection education aims to help children to learn ways to protect themselves from sexual abuse as well as other forms of abuse, including bullying.  The children are taught strategies to respond to unsafe situations and how to network with trusted adults.

Sefton infants School will be holding a parent session to provide more information about the learning content that is part of Child Protection lessons for students K-2.  The workshop will be held in the school library from 9-10am on Monday 19 August.

Child Protection education is even more effective if parents support their children’s learning in this area.  We hope that our parents and carers can attend this valuable information session.
